We had the great fortunate to be invited to visit The Old Bridge wedding venue in South Petherton on Sunday 20 May to take a sneak peak at the venue and the wedding fair that was taking place that day.
What a delightful venue. The first thing we noticed was how relaxed the atmosphere was the moment we walked into the garden. It was such a stunning sunny day that we didn’t venture inside because we found ourselves marvelling at the beauty of the tranquil surroundings.
Tucked away just off the A303 (so very easy access) you wind down a isolated country lane in the depths of Somerset to then see signs for the Old Bridge; we then knew we were heading the right way.
We parked in the venues parking/field opposite the house to the walk the short distance along the gravel path to enter the beautiful garden.
The house itself is grand but with a lovely country farm house feel surrounded by greenery and beautifully colourful flowers. Made of Somerset stone (of course) the house overlooks a picturesque garden shared with a marquee as an option for the bride and grooms reception.
At the wedding fair itself we met some wonderful suppliers from the Somerset area, all known and worked at the Old Bridge, such as The Silver Cake and The Little Thatch Florist.
We are excited to hopefully collaborate with the Old Bridge in the future and would recommend this lovely venue to all.
